Sweet & Tangy Sauce

Sweet & tangy sauce can be used in a variety of dishes ranging from pasta such as rice or noodles to meats such as chicken or lamb. Whenever you want a sweet yet tangy kick, use this!

It can be made in a matter of minutes and stored for later use!

* 1 ½ cup brown sugar

* 2/3 cup of apple cider vinegar

* 1 cup of lemon lime soda (sprite, sierra, 7-up, any kind works!)

* 3 tbsp of minced garlic or one whole head of garlic, finely chopped

* 3 tbsp of soy sauce

* Black pepper

* 1 ½ tbsp of minced ginger (fresh or powdered ginger works, too)

* 1 tsp of corn starch

* Lemon juice 

INGREDIENTS

  1. In a saucepan on medium heat, combine (in order):
     

2/3 cup of apple cider vinegar

3 tbsp of soy sauce

1 ½ tbsp of minced ginger

1 cup of lemon lime soda (sprite, sierra, 7-up, any kind works!)

3 tbsp of minced garlic or one whole head of garlic, finely chopped

Black pepper
1
½ cup of brown sugar last

 

 2.   Stir and simmer for a minute or two, then add in your lemon juice, pepper and corn starch.

 

Note that this is a strong sauce and should be dispersed evenly amongst the dishes you use it in. It is safe to jar and store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
