Potluck Chicken & Green Bean Casserole

A premiere potluck side dish, the dreaded green bean casserole is dread no more!
With a creamy, savory blend of  beans and cheesy topping what isn’t there to love?

You can also sub cream of mushroom for cream of chicken or cream of celery!

 

* 2 chicken breasts (you could also sub chicken for a different meat)
* 14 oz can of green beans (1 ½  cups)
* 1 can cream of mushroom (or cream of celery or cream of chicken)
* 1/4 cup of milk

* 2 tbsp of butter
* 1/2 of a white onion
* 1 tsp of garlic powder
* 1 cup of chicken broth
* French fried onion rings (or Funyun brand chips)

* Shredded cheese blend

 

Total Prep Time: 20 minutes.

Total Cooking Time:  1 hour.

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut up chicken breasts into bite sized pieces.

  2. Heat 2 tbsp of butter in a skillet, then cook chicken halfway.

  3. Preheat oven to 350.

  4. Chop up onions.

  5. In a mixing bowl combine:
    14 oz can of green beans
    1 cup of chicken broth
    1 can cream of mushroom
    1/4 cup of milk
    Chopped onions
    Cooked chicken
    Sprinkle garlic powder

  6. Mix together then pour into a baking dish in an even layer.

  7. Top with french fried onion rings or “funyuns”.

  8. Bake for 30 minutes.
     

  9. Add a generous layer of cheese on top.

  10. Serve when cheese has melted!
